Learn to grill with the Mountain Brook Fire Department!
This is not a drill! Teens can learn to grill with members of the Mountain Brook Fire Department on Wednesday, April 24 at 4-5PM* in the Lower Parking Lot. Learn about the differences between charcoal and gas grills, how to safely put out a grill fire, and enjoy the tasty foods we make at the program!
Vegetarian options AVAILABLE. Grilling ingredients are hot dogs, chicken thighs, and veggie skewers. Please inform a librarian of food adjustments/substitutes in the registration form or through email at least 2-3 days before the event.
This program is for teens in grades 7-12. Registration is REQUIRED. *This program may end later than the 4-5PM event time depending on cooking times and safety Q&A. Got questions? Email young adult librarians Michelle Cheng and Gracie Roth at teens@oneallibrary.org. DIY Yums is a monthly teen program where participants can make simple, trendy recipes while learning about food history or kitchen appliance usage.
Weather/Rain Plan: In the event of light rain, the program may continue in the O'Neal Library's Lower Lot with the use of tents. In the event of a severe weather watch or warning during the program time, this event will be CANCELED.
