Where can I return my books?
Patrons can return items at the Library's temporary location at 56 Church Street during open hours, at the remote book drop located at 3100 Overton Road, Mountain Brook AL 35223 (Fire Station #2), or at any JCLC (Jefferson County Library Cooperative) library.
What materials can I return in the book drop?
Any JCLC (Jefferson County Library Cooperative) materials, except the items listed below.
What materials can't go in the remote book drop?
Items labeled as "Do Not Place In Book Drop", including large materials, inter-library loans, Tonies, Yotos, Launchpads, Puzzles, and otherwise fragile materials should be returned to the Circulation Desk at 56 Church Street. Items that are returned directly to departmental desks, such as Adventure Packs and Discovery Kits from the Children's Department, cannot be placed in the book drop, and should be returned directly to their respective service desks. Please do not place donations to the Friends of the O'Neal Library in the remote book drop.
How often is the remote book drop checked?
The book drop is checked on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Items returned on off-days, after hours, or during the weekend will be counted as returned on the most recent Tuesday or Thursday.
Is the remote book drop weatherproof?
Yes, the book drop is designed to be weather-proof. Please do not leave materials outside of the book drop. If they do not fit or otherwise do not go into the book drop, return them to the front desk.
