This afternoon, Mountain Brook's own vintage queen Susan Dumas will join us for a talk about the magic that wearing vintage can bring to your wardrobe & your life!

Fashion lover's haven might just be a certain basement in Mountain Brook. Twice a year, Mountain Brook style icon Susan Dumas opens her home for the chance to shop her eclectic collection of treasures including impeccably made midcentury gowns, flowing caftans, and statement accessories. This afternoon, Susan will join us for a talk about the magic that vintage can bring to your wardrobe & your life!

The same billion dollar industry that has made it possible for a brand-new,  on-trend $29 dollar dress to travel across the world into your closet within days abuses human rights in developing nations and contributes significantly to the pollution of our planet. According to Dana Thomas in Fashionopolis: The Price of Fast Fashion and the Future of Clothes, “In the last twenty years, the volume of clothes Americans throw away has doubled - from 7 million to 14 million tons. That equals 80 pounds per person per year.”
