Under the Mountain returns to the O’Neal Library on Saturday, March 23 at 7:00pm, for an evening with the award-winning author, Adam Cesare!

Originally from New York, Cesare attended Boston University where he studied English and film. Cesare’s love for both mediums inform his work: his 2012 novella Tribesmen follows a doomed Italian film crew in the 1970s who travel to a remote island where they plan to make a cheap horror flick that quickly becomes all too real; his upcoming Clown in the Cornfield 3: The Church of Frendo, despite its tongue-in-cheek title, takes a  more literary approach to the notion of what a slasher series can do, exploring the dangers of how we view others through forms of mass communication. In the ten years in between, Cesare has published nine books, worked in comic books for well-loved franchises such as The Dark Crystal and Adventure Time, and won the Bram Stoker Award for Superior Achievement in a Young Adult Novel for his breakout release, Clown in a Cornfield. An adaptation of Clown in a Cornfield is in the works, and will be produced by Temple Hill Entertainment, the same company that released Smile (2022) and the HBO series adaptation of Stephen King’s The Outsider.

Doors at 6:30 pm, event begins at 7:00 pm.
